The work behind the project
I analysed the journey of new plants from photography to catalogue publication. I designed an intelligent coding system and a semi-automated workflow for filenames, watermarks, categories, prices, species and batch uploads, with quality checks. Its value lies in the process: fewer repeated manual steps and more time for customers, plants and distribution.
The starting point
Each new plant required photographs, manual Photoshop edits and individual uploads. Names, species, categories and prices needed repeated checks: slow work that took time away from nursery operators, architects and designers.
From photograph to record
I redesigned the workflow around intelligent codes generated during photography. The system links images to plant data, prepares names and watermarks, organises categories and species and supports batch uploads into the management software. File checks and post-publication checks help identify errors.
The value for people
The project includes process analysis, interface design and CMS development. The aim is to turn a sequence of manual tasks into a manageable workflow: less repetition, quicker catalogue updates and more room for sales work and customer care.
